BAF Awareness & Networking Workshop Labasa

Business Assistance Fiji (BAF) had organized an Awareness and Networking Workshop in Labasa at Hotel North Pole. The participants were MSMEs from various sectors.

The participants had an opportunity to know the role and objectives of BAF and the assistance and support provided to MSMEs by BAF. The General Manager Mr. Ramesh Chand

highlighted to the participants the current activities BAF is conducting and the future plans of BAF toprovide assistance to MSMEs.

The BAF Workshop also provided platform for awareness to:

1. Fiji Development Bank conducted presentation and highlighted the key assessment criteria, importance of Financial Reports, Business Proposals and Cash flow and the Loan packages the MSMEs can apply for business development and sustainability.

2. Vodafone Fiji Limited presented on Viti kart and how Vodafone can assist MSMEs to reach to customers through the Viti kart platform. MSMEs also got an opportunity to register with the Vodafone team on-site to Viti kart and have one-to-one discussion on the business options.

3. Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport elaborated on the assistance available to MSME Fiji Livelihood Programmes, Young Entrepreneurship, National Export Strategy, Northern Development Programme, Integrated Human Resources Development Programme and Trade Enhancement Programme.

4. Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority presented on the various taxation and the requirement for registration for tax purposes, vat purposes

5. Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountant presented on the changes in the FIA Act, and the importance of membership and Quality Financial Statements.

All Participants left from the workshop with gratitude for recognizing MSMEs from Labasa and giving the opportunity.
