On the final day of the forum, the Pitch Competition finalists were announced. The participants from the startup businesses engaged in speed networking with investors and worked on their final pitches for the competition. Eight finalists from the Startup Training were selected, with five from Fiji, one from Tonga, one from Papua New Guinea, and one from Tuvalu.
The winners of the Pitch Competition were as follows:
First place: Envirotech Solutions Pacific (ESP) – Vanualailai Chris (Fiji)
Second place: Purayil Investment Ltd – Apenisa Ben Maracava and Sera Keleinavutoka (Fiji)
Third place: Southern Flame Investment Ltd – Livingstone Fontenu (Papua New Guinea)
The final day of the forum took place on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay in Nadi. This forum, organized by VentureWell, aimed to empower young science and technology innovators and entrepreneurs through hands-on training and mentoring provided by U.S. experts. Business Assistance Fiji (BAF) was the in-country partner for the training.
The participants for the Startup Training and Investors Forum came from Fiji, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Palau, Samoa, and the Solomon Islands.
