Business Assistance Fiji is supported by the Fiji Government to help support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Fiji. Collaborating closely with the Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, Business Assistance Fiji plays a vital role in providing assistance and resources to bolster the growth and success of MSMEs. NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade supported Business Link Pacific Programme in Fiji is implemented through an in-country partner. Fiji Commerce & Employers Federation was the initial partners however since FCEF is part of BAF, now BAF is the in-country partner for BLP.

Business Assistance Fiji is now a member of the International Council for Small Business. The International Council for Small Business (ICSB) was the first international membership organization to promote the growth and development of small businesses worldwide. The organization brings together educators, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners from around the world to share knowledge and expertise in their respective fields through publications, programs, workshops, training sessions and certifications. Business Assistance Fiji also works with Vodafone Fiji to link MSMEs to the E-commerce platform VitiKart hosted by Vodafone and MSMEs subscribing through Business Assistance Fiji will also benefit the reduced commission from 3% to 2%. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) helped Business Assistance Fiji create its Strategic Plan. This support came through the Pacific COVID-19 Business Recovery Program (CBRP).

In a significant step towards sustainable economic development, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and the Business Assistance Fiji have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Green Entrepreneurship and Green Growth Cooperation. The partnership signifies a strategic alliance with the shared vision of fostering green entrepreneurship and sustainable business practices in Fiji. The collaborative efforts under this MoU will contribute to Fiji’s national agenda of building a resilient and low-carbon economy in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Paris Agreement.

When small businesses in Fiji need a loan from the Fiji Development Bank (FDB), Business Assistance Fiji steps in to help. They link these businesses with their Business Advisory Service Providers (BASPs). Business Assistance Fiji (BAF) was the in-country partner for the VentureWell’s Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) – Startup Training & Investor Forum in 2023.
