Vineshwar Chand Gets Assistance from BLP/BAF

Meet Mr Vineshwar Chand, the owner of Vineshwar Chand Investment which specialises in selling a variety of Indian spices.

The 42-year-old used to operate a small roadside stall business along Bau Road in Nausori.

Before venturing into the sale of Indian spices, Mr Chand worked as a mechanic.

In 2021, Mr Chand moved to the Laqere Market which is located at the junction of Kulawai Road in Nasinu.

He came to know about Business Link Pacific (BLP) and Business Assistance Fiji (BAF) from one of their Business Advisory Service Providers (BASP), RK Chand & Associates for the financial preparation for his business.

Mr. Chand is the recipient of the BLP Business Support Grant. The grant enabled him to purchase a grinding machine and buy spices in bulk.

Previously, the expense of grinding spices in Nausori amounted to $400 to $500 per month.

With the new equipment, Vineshwar’s savings soared, empowering him to reinvest in his business and explore new growth opportunities.

Today, Vineshwar proudly supports local entrepreneurs by purchasing his products locally, contributing to the economic development of his community.

As Vineshwar’s stall continues to thrive, it exemplifies the potential for local businesses to flourish with perseverance and assistance.

BLP’s Business Advisory Network operates in 12 countries across the Pacific, offering advice in many areas of business. In some cases, a subsidy to cover some of the cost of the advice is available, so long as the business satisfies certain criteria (…/).

Preparation of financial statements is just one of the services currently provided by advisors through BAF and BLP’s Network. Other business services available range from organizational management, finance, and marketing to legal advice, human resources and technology (
